Tom Dijkman, 5th Dan, has his dojo in Amsterdam, Holland.
His Aikido is formed by his teacher Wilko Vriesman (Amsterdam) and by Christian Tissier (Paris). His main influence at this moment is Yasuno Masatoshi, 8th Dan Hombu dojo and Christian Tissier Sensei.
Tom continues to explore in his Aikido, which displays a range of inspirations.
He travels every year to Japan, where he practices in the dojos of Yasuno Sensei and at Hombu dojo in Tokyo. He also visits Kyoto to practice with Yoko Okamoto Sensei.
In Europe, Tom sees Christian Tissier Sensei. He also sees Yasuno Sensei, and Kobayashi Sensei on his annual visit to Holland, as well as Ikeda Sensei from Colorado.
In Tom's classes, the atmosphere is always fruitful, open-minded yet concentrated. He works with a sense of deep irimi and compelling contact, entering towards the partner's centre, while keeping the action free from force or friction.
There is also an important focus on how to behave as uke. A recurrent theme in the classes is staying present and connected while rolling and falling (taking ukemi).
The fee for the full seminar is R 900, excluding Lunch.
